Treatments
We provide high quality psychological therapy and assessment services to clients under NDIS
People with disability are at greater risk to experience isolation, exclusion, abuse, neglect, and discrimination.
They are also less likely to access mental health services which can have long lasting effects on mental well-being. Bridging Psychology was established for the purpose of “bridging” the gap between people with disability and mental health service.
We recognise that every person is unique and aim to provide a tailored approached to psychological treatment and assessment.

TREATMENTS
Our clinicians use a range of evidence-based treatment approaches that are tailored to support individual needs and preferences. We use the following modalities:
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
ACT is a form of psychotherapy that emphasises acceptance of difficult thoughts and feelings while committing to actions aligned with personal values. It aims to enhance psychological flexibility and promote meaningful change.
Behavioural Therapy
(BT)
Behavioural therapy focuses on modifying maladaptive behaviours through reinforcement, modelling, and other behavioural techniques. It aims to help individuals learn new, healthier behaviours and decrease unwanted behaviours.
Client-Centred Therapy
Client-Centred Therapy, also known as Person-Centred Therapy, is a humanistic approach that emphasises empathy, unconditional positive regard, and genuineness in the therapeutic relationship. It encourages clients to explore their own feelings and experiences in a non-judgmental environment.
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
CBT is a goal-oriented psychotherapy that focuses on identifying and changing negative thought patterns and behaviours. It helps individuals develop coping skills and strategies to manage their emotions and improve their quality of life.
Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT)
CPT is a type of cognitive behavioural therapy specifically designed to treat symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). It helps individuals challenge and reframe negative beliefs about themselves and the world following trauma exposure.
Mindfulness and Positive Psychology
Mindfulness and Positive Psychology interventions focus on cultivating present-moment awareness, promoting self-compassion, and enhancing overall well-being. They emphasise the importance of gratitude, resilience, and cultivating a positive mindset.
Motivational Interviewing
Motivational Interviewing is a collaborative, goal-oriented approach that helps individuals explore and resolve ambivalence about behaviour change. It aims to strengthen intrinsic motivation and promote commitment to positive change.
Solution-focused Therapy (SFT)
SFT is a brief, goal-oriented approach that focuses on identifying and building upon an individual’s strengths and resources to achieve specific, achievable goals. It emphasises solutions rather than dwelling on problems.
Trauma-informed Practice
Trauma-informed practice involves understanding the impact of trauma on individuals’ lives and integrating this knowledge into service delivery. It emphasises safety, trustworthiness, collaboration, empowerment, and cultural sensitivity in supporting trauma survivors.
